Well! Sunday's walk turned out to be even more interesting than anticipated. It was great countryside but who could have imagined that somebody would have dug a massive hole right where the footpath should have been?
The relief Walk Leader (ie me) had never walked the area before and it was all a bit of an adventure (for me) to start with. Luckily Rob was on hand with local knowledge and an ability (that I lack) to read and follow guide book instructions. Give me a map and I can just about cope... that said, however, my map was very out of date and didn't even show the new route of the A421.
So much for being prepared... Add to that the Anchor was shut and a trip to Blunham that seemed a possible alternative uncovered the unnerviing fact that there are still pubs in this country that don't do food (Aagghh!). Moggerhanger saved the day and The Guinea served up some decent fare to ease our hunger pangs.
Hey! What's life without its little challenges?
